Our interns dive into hands-on projects that put them at the center of the livability world, working closely with Open Plans staff, meeting stakeholders across the city , and working on projects that directly impact our streets and public spaces.

Thursday, February 29th (Leap Day!)

Stop idling near schools

The Department of Environmental Protection is proposing to weaken a longstanding rule that protects NYC school children from the pollution caused by idling cars. Car exhaust causes higher rates of asthma and chronic respiratory illness. Submit our letter to tell decision makers not to put students' health in danger by letting drivers idle dangerously close to schools.

🗣️ Visit our table at the 30th Bronx Parks Speak Up! at the Lehman College Faculty Dining Room, Music Building this Saturday February 24 from 12 - 3 PM. There will be a panel discussion on using green space to combat climate change, fun workshops, and more.

 

🚗 The MTA and your state officials need to know that you support congestion pricing! Submit this letter to tell them you're ready for the program to start later this year and sign up to testify at one of the upcoming public hearings here.
